AbFab’s Patsy: Posh Party Girl Gone Practical???

on January 25, 2013

Patsy Stone: “I thought a little mosey down Bond Street, a little sniff around Gucci, sidle up to Ralph Lauren, pass through Browns and on to Quags for a light lunch.”

You can bet that Patsy and Eddie never stopped at the local charity shop during their infamous shopping marathons. Cut to real life, where Joanna Lumley is promoting Marks & Spencer’s charitable pop-up Shwopping event. The weekend event at M&S features donated items from celebrities, which can be purchased by customers who donate clothing items. Click here to read details of the joint venture with Oxfam.

Of the charitable side, Lumley states, “It makes such an unbelievable difference as I’m lucky enough to have travelled to Africa and seen the difference a small amount of money can make. So it’s win win win!” Of the great shopping, she enthuses, “So I say keep your eyes open for bargains and don’t be afraid to be a bit daring as that’s how fashion comes. From making a style of our own.” You can read more about Ms. Lumley’s love of vintage shopping here.

Also, congrats to Ms. Lumley on her National Television Award (NTA) Recognition Award, presented 1/23/13. We have loved her, from her appearances on “Are You Being Served” to the legendary Patsy, and everything in between. Cheers, Sweetie!
